The most effective rotations in organic production often present opportunities to include specialty crops. Variabilities in geographic location, weather patterns and soil types often dictate which specialty crops may be best for your consideration. Established organic producers in your region may be the best source of information about specialties that do well where you farm. This may not be for everyone but it may be an opportunity for you. These do, however, present specialty marketing challenges as well.
